Hi there,
It is my gorgeous niece's 16th birthday next week (can't believe it!) so I made her a card using the Pleasant Poppies stamp. I used some Early Espresso and Tempting Turquoise embossing powder. I cut the letters out using the Perfect Print Bigz Die for the Big Shot. Lucky her name is pretty short, so it fit in.

Boy's Cards
I have a few boy's birthdays in November and had a few cards to make. This is a photo of a card I made for a boy a tutor. I got the idea off Pinterest. It uses a set called Perfect Pennants, combined with Gorgeous Grunge, Off The Grid and the Simply Stars set.
The letters were super easy to cut out using the Perfect Print Alphabet and Numbers Die for The Big Shot.
This one was really easy to make with the Alphabet Press embossing Folder. I rolled a Brayer along the inside if the folder (so the ink would pick up the negative side of the Whisper White Cardstock. I used a combination of Burmuda Bay and Whisper White Cardstock.

Christmas Classes, 2014
I will be holding three different classes this Christmas. I'd love you to come along and see what you can create with your own two hands. In this age of 'e-cards' and group emails, it is a little impersonal to receive one. When you send a handmade card to someone, I believe it shows 'hey, I care about you'.
Christmas Card Making
Thursday, 20th November 7pm & Saturday, 22nd November, 3pm, 2014
We will be making 6 cards, of three different designs (or you can pick your favourite design and make 6 of the same.)
Cost: $20 which includes all materials and matching envelopes.
Advent Boxes
Come and make your own handmade Advent boxes. Put a special treat inside each of the tiny boxes for each of the days of December.
Thursday, 27th November, 7pm & Saturday, 29th November, 3pm, 2014
Cost is $25 which includes all materials and tuition. (you can make an extra set for $15)
Card-in a Box
Come and make two of these gorgeous card-in-a-box. Post it like a normal card, yet in folds out to a lovely 3D decoration.
Thursday, 4th December, 7pm & Saturday, 6th December 3pm, 2014
The cost is $20 which includes all materials and tuition.
Hope you can make one (or all) of these classes. Please RSVP: Vanessa Cook 0402 276 324 or email cookv3@tpg.com.au

Christmas Box Card
This card is copied from Debra Hole, who is a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I saw her at a market a little while ago and just loved it.
This is another box card and I found the instructions for these on another demonstrator's site called "Stampin' T'. You can find it on YouTube if you type in 'Box Card'. She is an Aussie demonstrator, so her measurements enable you to fold it down and post the card in a normal envelope.
The patterned paper is from 'Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack, which is a set of 48 pieces of paper in card size, which makes it perfect for card making. The trees are from The Festival of Trees Stamp set, which I cut out with the matching Tree Punch. The house in the middle is from the set Holiday home, also easily cut out with the Homemade Holiday Framelits Dies.
If you would like to learn how to make this card (well two of them) please come along to my class, which will be held in my home at Wahroonga on Thursday, 4th December at 7pm and repeated on Saturday, 6th December at 3pm. Please email me at cookv3@tpg.com.au if you'd like to come.

Baby box card
Hi there,
I haven't added to my blog for so long but am still alive and well making cards. I wanted to share this one as I have jumped on the bandwagon that is box cards.
Box cards are pretty cute and are good for baby cards, Christmas, anything, really.
I made this for a friend that is attending a baby shower, so I hope she likes it.
This is made from the Zoo Babies set, although the monkey is from a retired set call Fox and Friends as I liked the bigger image of the monkey. The sentiments are from a lovely new set called Baby We've Grown.
I went to Office works to get some clear acetate sheets (you need to buy the document cover strength ones as the old overhead projector sheets are too weak.) I then cut the acetate sheets into 1cm strips, to somewhat suspend the animals, so that when you shake it, the animals bounce around.
I will be running card in a box classes in late November

Around the World
I thought I would create this card for my nieces that are heading off to Vanuatu to celebrate the end of the HSC and the end of high school. I didn't put a greeting on it as I thought I'd keep it broad. I used the colours I wouldn't normally put together, however, the Designer Series Paper led me in the right direction.
