Around the World
I thought I would create this card for my nieces that are heading off to Vanuatu to celebrate the end of the HSC and the end of high school. I didn't put a greeting on it as I thought I'd keep it broad. I used the colours I wouldn't normally put together, however, the Designer Series Paper led me in the right direction.

Cupcake Punch
Hi there,
Has it really been July since I last posted? I have been holding classes and making cards, but not blogging!
I found this card as I was on Pinterest and changed it ever so slightly. This was designed by a lady in America whose blog is called Simple Stamping. I just loved the look of it! The colours used are: Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.
I used the cupcake punch for the scoops and cherry and the pennant punch for the cone. The Simply Scorred scorer to give a nice boarder to the card. I used a framelits set (Labels Collection) to cut the decorative background, with my new Big Shot magnetic platform. The magnet inside it keeps the framelits in place as you cut it, which is really handy.
We will be making two of these cards (as well as 4 others) at my next cardmaking class on the 19th October at my house, in Wahroonga. Please contact me on 0402 276 324 or on cookv3@tpg.com.au if you'd like to come.

Wheel Stamps..
A big thankyou to those of you who came to my catalogue launch last Saturday. We used some new things, such as the new Bermuda Bay colour, some new embossing folders and stamps. The card above was super easy to make as we used the new Stampin' Wheel stamp called Butterfly Collection.
You can use the Stampin' Wheels for lots of things, such as wrapping paper or even making a cheap table runner and just rolling it down the centre. If you add an ink cartridge the ink just keeps going and going!
We also made this card too, using the new Baroque Embossing Folder and the Beautifully Baroque individual stamp. We heat embossed it using the Melon Mambo embossing powder. I love heat embossing as it makes the image slightly raised with a nice gloss to it.
If you'd like to order anything from the new catalogue, please press the 'Shop Now' box at the top right hand corner of this blog. Please use the hostess code UMVYZACS in the Hostess Code box so I can keep a track of the orders.
Thanks so much,
Ness xx

You don't have to be 80 to get this card! The stamp is so versatile, you can choose any age for the cards.
This is a really simple card, that could have a variety of purposes.
This is a lot of fun to make and super-quick too!

Card Class this Thursday Night
I have made three cards for my card class this Thursday night. All three of them are made using the Stippled Blossoms set. It is a really lovely set, that my friend, Anne Farrar, recommended to me. She made the most gorgeous card that she let me copy.
Stippled Blossoms is called a two-step stamping set. That means you stamp an image with a light colour first and then use the second stamp in a darker colour and it gives a lovely darker outline.
The first card is made with three images from the Stippled Blossoms set and then fussy cut. Fussy cutting is a fancy word for 'hand cutting'! I put the background through the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and cut the oval out with the Oval Framelits. I then stamped the greeting with the set: Memorable moments. It's a great set, as you can stamp any age greeting to make a card for a special occasion.
The second card is an ode to two retiring colours; Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy. It was super easy to make. I just stamped the greeting from the set Field Flowers and the flower from Stippled Blossoms.
For the third card, I wanted to use the paper doilies in the Seasonal Catalogue. I stamped the background using the Netting background stamp. The two colours used were Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose.
As I mentioned, I will be holding a class this Thursday night (7pm, 30th May) and I will repeat the class on 22nd June at 2pm. We will be making 6 cards with matching envelopes for $20.
Please email me on cookv3@tpg.com.au if you'd like to come along.

Blog Hop
Welcome to our StampInkPaper Team Mother's Day Blog Hop. A blog hop is where you 'hop' from blog to blog linked by the same theme, you may have arrived here from Carolyn Campbell-McLean's blog, or just happened upon the tour by chance. Our theme is of course Mother's Day. Each of our team members have made a card using Stampin'Up! products.
My Mum is a woman of simple taste- no frills or flowers for her! I knew she would love something so plain and simple. I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest (a great way to spend 5 hours). The card was inspired by Amiee Cretsinger. It was made by using three shades of green using a stamp from the Betsy's Blossom set. I then punched out the images with three sizes of circle punches (2 1/2", 1 3/4" and 1 1/4"). I used Stampin' Dimensionals to give the tree some depth. I then attached a red (Real Red) heart using the Small Heart Punch. The trunk was hand cut and I ran it through the big shot using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. The 'Mum' greeting was from a versatile stamp set called For My Family. I love how it it a set that spells 'Mum' like we do here in Australia.
When you have finished here, you can continue the hop through the link at the end of this post to the next team member's creations.

Betsy's Blossom in Red, White and Blue
I love to colour combination of red, white and blue. I made this card using the sets Betsy's blossom and Itty Bitty Banners. The colours are Real Red, Midnight Muse. I mounted the bird on some Stampin' Dimensionals, to make it stand out more.
I am over in Adelaide at the moment for work, having a great old time. I just wish I had brought some card making to do in my hotel room. I made the one above when I was on a work trip to Perth. Housekeeping must think it's a little strange to see a production line of 12 half made cards in the hotel room!
Have a great week!

Summer Silhouettes
This was the first time I had tried the set Summer Silhouettes and I like it! The flower stamps are separate
to the leaves and stems, so you can stamp different colours. The background of this card is one of our In Colours called Raspberry Ripple.

Pleasant Poppies
I am just loving this stamp at the moment, it is just one big stamp, but looks really beautiful in just one colour. I have made quite a few of these in different colours, but red is my favourite. I also stamped the back of the envelope, which adds a nice touch.
This stamp is also very easy to emboss with. I have done some effective ones by stamping onto Early Expresso card and then dusting with Melon Mambo.
I have been selling lots of cards at fetes and a lot of people ask me for cards with no greeting. I had never thought of this! So this one is a great one to have no greeting.

Aviary for Wedding Thankyous
I have been busily making thankyou cards for my friend, Jane's wedding. I helped her make her wedding invitations (all 70 of them) and knew she would run out of time to make some thankyou cards for her guests. As her colour scheme was Baja Breeze (light blue) and white, I made the above design in those colours. I started off with 2 birds in the cage, but it looked like they were trapped by marriage. I then put one in the cage and a tall one outside of the cage, then it looked like he was keeping her captive! Then I thought: "Am I reading too much into this?"
Probably.
Above are the same design in different colours- Island Indigo & Tangerine Tango.

Versatile Bigz Alphabet Simple Letters
My friend Maria is an Easter baby. I remember she would always get Easter eggs as birthday presents! I decided to make a big deal out of her birthday this year and had some girlfriends over for dinner the other night. She was so thrilled when she saw her name on the cakes.
This was so easy to do. I used the Stampin' Up! glitter paper and cut out the letters using the Bigz Simple Alphabet Letters on the Big Shot and sticky taped them to toothpicks.
Happy Easter everyone, and Happy Birthday, Maria!

Card Class- Vintage Butterflies
I thought I would let you see what we will be making next card class. I got the idea for this style while looking at a a blog I stumbled across by Diane Van Galien. You can get so many good ideas by Googling the stamp set you want to use!
The next card class will be held at my home in Wahroonga (North Shore, Sydney) at 2pm next Saturday, 6th April. Please contact me (0402 276 324) if you'd like to come.
Here is a close up of it:
I love the embossing- it shows up really well. When you come, you can choose your greeting and embossing style. The colours we will be using are Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette.
The stamps I used were: Papillon Potpouri (for the butterflies) and Perfectly Penned for the greeting.
The butterflies were so easy as I punched them out with the two different sizes of the butterfly punch. I then folded them in half and added a glue dot to one side to give the feeling that they'd just landed in the page.
I cut the two shapes on the page with a new Framelit set called Apothecary Accents. So easy, as I put two sheets of cardstock at a time through the Big Shot machine.
Happy Easter,
Ness xx
